When you only have about a tenth of a second to grab that potential client, what are you going to use? You want something that can show your ideal client that you mean business and you mean to do business with them…but how can I show them quickly? Well, with your logo. I’m going to walk you through four reasons why your logo is an important puzzle piece to the foundation of your brand below.
Side note: Even with a logo being an important part of the foundation for your brand, many business owners believe that an effective logo requires them forking out hundreds and hundreds of dollars. That’s not the case. I’ve created a PDF titled “Where to Start When You Need a Logo” that you can download right here that will walk you through how to create an effective logo that attracts your dream clients. 1. Your logo targets your ideal client.
You can’t travel in a straight line if you don’t know where you are going. There are millions of people on Facebook and, as of 2015, there are 50 million businesses with pages on Facebook. By having a logo that attracts your one ideal client, you are able to go further and in a straight line! You have more traction for your posts, more traffic for your website, and all this generates more sales for your wallet.
2. Your logo will create the base of your visual for your brand.
By visual, I mean the colors, the fonts, & the “feel” of your brand. You want your logo to create an image of who you are when your ideal client thinks of your company, sees your posts, your products, your services, etc. All of this should come together to create an image of a company that your ideal client can trust to do business with.
If you read the paragraph above and thought, “So, no pressure, right??” I understand. It can be very daunting to create an excellent logo that will attract your ideal client. But, it’s not impossible. If you scroll down to the bottom of this page I have a free worksheet for you on how to begin to create your own effective logo! 3. Your logo attracts more customers.
I’m not certain if you knew this already, but if you aren’t attracting more customers then you might be running an expensive hobby. Not a business. One way to attract those customers is by having an effective logo. You can create the perfect post with an immaculate image – you know, the one with the white background that makes it look like the sole purpose of your life was to be on a magazine spread – but if your logo doesn’t speak to your ideal client that will create a crack in your ideal client’s image of your business.
This will mean that you need to do some research about your ideal client. What do they like? What will attract them? What repels them? Do they want someone with a white background photo or more grit? Are they a dog or cat person? You need to know these things before you start building your logo so that you know you will attract the ideal customer for your business.
4. Your logo helps market your brand.
Now, some quick basics. Branding is different from marketing. Let’s say that out loud together.
Branding is different from marketing.
When you are creating your brand you are creating the foundation for your marketing. This includes:
- Logo
- Colors
- Fonts
- One-liners
- Photos
- Watermarking your photos
Marketing, on the other hand, is how you put together these branding pieces. You would see this on
- Facebook posts
- Website
- Business card
- Shop items
- Live events
- Booths
- Store front
By creating your brand’s foundation (the visual) then you will have less to think about when you are marketing your business. Creating a logo is one part of developing your brand to build your marketing. But think of everywhere your logo will be seen. Everywhere. This is why a logo is important for your brand. When you get the logo right, you are able to establish your image to your ideal client and then market that image everywhere.
